Exclusive Plain Tops with Sunburst Finishes
This exclusive Gibson Les Paul™ Standard 60s features a plain maple top in two vibrant sunburst finishes which showcase the beauty of the natural wood grain. These guitars are for those players who prefer the understated aesthetic of a plain maple top over the flashy figured maple tops while featuring two classic sunburst variations–Bourbon Burst and Heritage Cherry Sunburst. Proudly made in Nashville, Tennessee, these exclusive Les Paul Standard 60s models have all the same features as the standard models like USA-made pickups and the classic looks that a Les Paul should have. This Les Paul Standard 60s pays tribute to Gibson’s past while staying current with modern enhancements.
Powered by a pair of 60s Burstbucker™ pickups, this Les Paul Standard 60s has the sound of a classic Les Paul that became synonymous with rock music. These USA-made pickups take inspiration from Gibson humbucker™ pickups from the early 1960s that are now known as “Patent Number” humbuckers. Mounted in the control cavity are pro-level audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop™ capacitors that produce vintage tones from zero to ten. High-quality sound comes from the sum of all the parts, so every piece of the puzzle is important. This recipe of high-quality pickups combined with choice parts has been a winning recipe with Gibson guitars for decades.
The classic SlimTaper™ neck profile is inspired by vintage examples from Gibson’s Golden Era. This popular neck profile is a modern interpretation of some neck carves found on classic examples from the early 1960s. Glued on top of the solid mahogany neck is a rosewood fretboard with a 12-inch radius and features 22 Medium Jumbo frets. This allows for smooth playability for everything from playing cowboy chords in the open position to searing leads above the twelfth fret. Inlaid into the rosewood fretboard are acrylic trapezoid inlays that add to the classic look of a Les Paul Standard.
For the purists, a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body stays true to the original design of the Les Paul, giving the guitar its legendary sustain and tone. While the Les Paul has had slight tweaks over the decades, this guitar pays tribute to the designs of the early 1960s while including modern touches like Grover® Rotomatic® Kidney tuners. These Grover Kidney button tuning machines keep the tuning stability rock solid while having a precise 18:1 gear ratio. This mixture of traditional and modern appointments brings the Les Paul into the modern age while remaining faithful to its history as well as its classic tones.
Finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, this Les Paul Standard 60s will age like a fine wine as the years go by. Available in Bourbon Burst and Heritage Cherry Sunburst finishes, this exclusive Les Paul Standard 60s with its plain maple top has all the same features as the figured top version while flying a little under the radar. Included with the guitar is a Gibson hardshell case and a Gibson Accessory Kit.
